ABC Crèches

ABC Puériculture has created a network of multi-format childcare centres with names derived from classic teddy bears. In just over 25 years, ABC Puériculture has opened 20 centres. The original Teddy club centre opened its doors in 1989 in the 16th arrondissement, with place for twenty children on a mostly part-time basis.

Three years later, in the same neighbourhood, Les Oursons opened with space for 30 kids.

In 1994, ABC Puériculture established Les Coquin'ours (20 enfants) in a space provided by the parish in the 8th arrondissement.

In December 1995, ABC took over an existing day care facility in the 16th and renamed it Les Calin'ours, with space for 30 more little ones.

1998 saw a rare exception to the naming policy, when ABC Puériculture took over two crèches in the 15th arrondissement: Crèche Violet, with 37 places for kids from 8 months to 4 years old, and Crèche Arc en ciel with places for twenty toddlers up to the age of 4.

In 2006 ABC Puériculture, with the help of architect Georges Pencreac’h, transformed a 1000 m² former warehouse on Quai de Valmy in the 10th arrondissement into a new multi-format childcare centre, which opened on 5th February 2007 with facilities for 74 children aged between 3 months and 4 years: the Quai des ours.

In September 2007 we created Le 14ème ours, a 62-crib crèche set in a grand townhouse in the 14th arrondissement.

June 2008 saw a new addition to the family: Cité des ours, a new 23-crib crèche in the 18th arrondissement of the capital.

In November 2009 we launched a new crèche in the 11th arrondissement - Au fil des ours, with places for 30 children and a particular focus on energy efficiency and respect for the environment.

In May 2010 we returned to the 18th arrondissement with space for 30 new little bears in the Grand'ours crèche.

In July 2011 Nuage d'ours opened in the 13th arrondissement, with room for 20 more kids.

In September 2011 another new crèche opened in the 11th arrondissement: Le Lagon des ours with 64 cribs.

In April 2012, after a year of renovation work, Crèche Chérioux reopened with 61 cribs in the 15th arrondissement. ust next to the Canal de l’Ourcq in the 19th arrondissement, the Histoire d'ours crèche has been open since January 2013 with space for 20 little ones.

In 2014, the ABC family expanded again: in the 12th arrondissement, Au bonheur des ours has 58 cribs, while the neighbouring 13th arrondissement is home to a 22-place crèche set in the converted Panhard factory: La Fabrique des ours.
Meanwhile, in the 3rd arrondissement, the conversion of an old technical college made room for a new 47-crib crèche: Histoire d'ours.
In 2015 the family will gain another new member: L'Atelier des ours in the 20th arrondissement.

Crèche at Home

As pioneers in the field of local services, from its inception ABC Puériculture has offered an innovative childcare solution: Crèche at Home. The concept is to deliver care solutions tailored precisely to the requirements of young children, respecting their schedule and their family environment, all under the supervision of specialised educators.

We have over 150 childcare assistants helping families every day, primarily in Paris and the Hauts-de- Seine département. We also offer parenting support and babysitting services.

ABC Training

Because we realise just how important it is to prepare for the future and ensure that childcare professionals receive top quality training, ABC Puériculture is also a training agency: we offer courses including the CAP Petite Enfance, Professional Experience Accreditation and professional qualifications for domestic services.

In 2005, after receiving official approval from the DRASS (Regional Directorate for Health and Social Affairs), ABC Puériculture opened a Childcare Assistant Training Institute, where every year we take on 35 students on apprenticeship schemes or full-time courses.

Since 2007 we have fleshed out our range of courses to include professional experience accreditation programmes and conversion courses for healthcare assistants. ABC has also opened a continuing education centre designed to give practicing professionals an opportunity to stop and reflect, a sure way to boost the quality of their work.

Our commitment to kids

ABC Puériculture has been an officially accredited provider of personal services since 1992.
